The Houthis (Ansar Allah) announced on November 6 that they had launched another drone attack against Israel from Yemen in support of the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

In a statement, Houthi spokesman Brigade General Yahya Sari said that “the Yemeni armed forces… launched a batch of drones during the past hours at various sensitive targets of the Israeli enemy in the occupied territories.”

“As a result of the operation, the activity at the targeted bases and airports stopped for several hours,” he added.

The spokesman noted that the Houthis will “continue to carry out more qualitative military operations in support of the Palestinian people… until the brutal Israeli aggression against our brothers in Gaza stops.”

Later on November 7, the Houthis released footage showing the launch of several Samad-type suicide drones from an undisclosed Yemeni area at night time.

The Israeli Defense Forces did not immediately confirm the attack, which is the latest in a series of Houthi drone and missile launches at Israel.

The Houthis announced a large-scale strike against Israel on October 31 and claimed responsibility for two previous attacks which took place on October 19 and 27. Later on November 1, the group launched its fourth attack in support of Gaza.

To counter drone and missile attacks from Yemen, the IDF bolstered its air defenses in the Red Sea with at least two Sa’ar 5-class corvettes.

Israeli officials were reportedly considering ways to respond against the Houthis, who control much of Yemen and maintain a large arsenal of missiles and drones, after the first attacks. Nevertheless, no military action will likely deter the battle-hardened group.
