Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, the DPR and the LPR have been developing their advance in the region of Donbass amid regular Russian strikes on key objects of Ukrainian military infrastructure.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that during the day of May 10, Russian operational-tactical and army aviation hit 74 targets, including 2 command posts, 20 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration of Kyiv’s forces, as well as 2 missile and artillery weapon depots.
Russian missile troops and artillery units hit 223 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration, and destroyed 3 command posts and 2 ammunition depots.
The aforementioned strikes reportedly resulted in the elimination of more than 100 members of Kyiv’s forces and up to 19 armoured and motor vehicles.
At the same time, Russian air defence means shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 warplane near Shirokoe, Dnepropetrovsk Region. In addition, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down near Novodmitrovka, Kherson Region. Additionally, 4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down near Lisichansk, Krivoi Rog and Kulinovka.
The Russian side says that Russian forces have destroyed 164 Ukrainian aircraft and 125 helicopters, 798 unmanned aerial vehicles, 302 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,983 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 351 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,440 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,796 units of special military vehicles since the start of the operation.
The Russian Defense Ministry also revealed additional details regarding the situation with Zmeiniy Island, where Kyiv’s forces recently fell into a trap crated by the Russian military.
“I would like to point out that another Ukrainian Bayraktar-TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle have been shot down by Russian air defence means this afternoon near Zmeiniy Island.
The Kiev regime has thus lost 30 military UAVs alone in this area over the past three days.
9 of these, I remind you, are Bayraktar-TB2 strike UAVs.
The UAVs were all used in the failed “PR campaign” by the Kiev regime to seize Zmeiniy Island on the eve of May 9, the Great Patriotic War Victory Day.
In addition, 3 more bodies of Ukrainian saboteurs nailed from the sea were found by Russian servicemen on the shore today.
Now 27 bodies of Ukrainian special forces and nationalist fighters remain at Zmeiniy Island as a result of Kiev’s failed operation.
In total, the Kiev regime have lost 3 Su-24 bombers and 1 Su-27 fighter jet near Zmeiniy Island during militarily pointless attempt to seize the island.
10 Ukrainian Air Force helicopters have been destroyed. Among them, 3 Mi-8 helicopters with paratroopers on board and 1 Mi-24 support helicopter have been shot down in the air. In addition, 6 more Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters involved in the operation have been destroyed on the ground near Artsiz, Odessa Region.
▫️Also 3 Ukrainian Centaur armoured amphibious assault boats with marines on board have been destroyed.
Thus, this adventure ended in disaster for Ukraine. The Kiev regime’s mindless PR campaign to seize Zmeiniy Island on the eve of Victory Day resulted in the senseless deaths of more than five dozen Ukrainian fighters and members of elite AFU units, the loss of 4 aircraft, 10 helicopters, 3 boats and 30 unmanned aerial vehicles,” a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said.
Captured or destroyed Ukrainian equipment:
Kyiv’s forces that are not able to counter regular Russian strikes on the crucial points of their infrastructure prefer to respond with shelling civilian areas in Donetsk and Lugansk republics as well as in areas under control of Russian forces. On May 10 only, multiple strikes on civilian targets launched by Kyiv’s forces were recorded among almost all the contact line. Kyiv troops intentionally shell civilian targets in residential areas in large cities.
Impact of a new round of strikes by Kyiv’s forces on Donetsk city. 2 people were killed and 5 others were injured. Photos show vestiges of unguided rockets near the local hospital:
Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to keep initiative in all key sectors of operations in the region of Donbass.
As in the previous days, the most intense clashes have been ongoing around the Severodonetsk-Lysichansk agglomeration, Izum and in the countryside of Popasnaya. The Russian Armed Forces are steadily purging military equipment and manpower of Kyiv’s forces locked on their fortified positons in these areas.
In these conditions, the main point of mobile battles is the countryside of Izum where the Russians have still not reached the Barvenko-Slovyansk highway. Instead, they worked to expand their foothold to the north of the highway and west of Izum.
Contradictory reports appear from the area of Mariinka near Donetsk. Some pro-DPR sources claim that DPR units were able to make tactical gains there. Nonetheless, this is yet to be confirmed.
In Mariupol, Russian and DPR artillery as well as Russian warplanes are slowly eliminating the remaining fortified positions of pro-Kyiv radicals in the Azovstal plant industrial area. In the rest of the city a humanitarian and security operation is already ongoing.
The Russian-led offensive in the region of Donbass is ongoing amid the growing instability in the region.
On May 10, Belarus announced that Ukraine created “an armed group of up to 20,000 personnel” on the border with the country. The military of Belarus announced that “in order to ensure security … in the southern direction, the forces of the special operations forces units are deployed in three tactical directions,” he said.
An ordinary example of how Kyiv’s forces use schools, kindergartens and other civilian objects for military purposes:
Earlier, Minsk said that NATO continues to build up its military presence near the state border of the republic.
According to Minsk, the Belarusian Armed Forces “have developed a whole range of measures aimed at countering possible threats.”
On May 10, the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, announced that the armed forces of the republic had begun the second stage of testing of the response forces in response to the threat from NATO.
Meanwhile, NATO kicked off military drills in Romania codenamed «Resolute Castle 22». The drills involve forces of the United States and the United Kingdom. Together with the recent growth of tensions around Transnistria (a not recognized state bordering Moldova), this contributes to the escalation of tensions in the entire Black Sea region.
In the case of further successes of Russian-led forces in the east of Ukraine, NATO may try to respond to the collapse of Kyiv’s forces not only with the invasion to the west of Ukraine, but also with the attack on Transnistria and operation to capture Odessa. Expectedly, such attack will be justified by the need to “protect the strategic port” of Odessa and “civilians” from the advancing Russian forces.
If the NATO leadership really opts this scenario, it is likely that it could lead to the direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. Thus, the United States, by the hands of its European puppets, will instigate a large war in Europe and possibly a global nuclear conflict.
