Russian soldiers in Ukraine
On May 6, 2022, the Russian offensive in Ukraine continued. Some successes are obvious.
However, in the Belgorod region, the villages of Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka bordering Ukraine were shelled. A house and a garage were destroyed in Nekhoteevka. There were no civilian casualties.
Consequences of the shelling of Nekhoteevka
Kharkiv direction:
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are building fortifications near Chuguev. An attempt to cross the Seversky Donets River in this direction was met with artillery fire from the Russian Armed Forces, who were expecting it. The Ukrainian command is trying to take advantage of the low concentration of Allied forces in the area near Kharkiv and is actively attempting to retake occupied settlements.
The AFU conducts sabotage activity near the village of Tsirkuny. A bridge over the Murom River was blown up near the village of Russkiye Tishki. A group of Russian troops based in the village of Cirkuny is supplied via the route across the bridge. The Ukrainian Armed Forces aim to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions in Kharkiv Oblast and from the left bank of the Seversky Donets River and reach the state border with Russia.
In the vicinity of Tsupovka village, a tank battle took place between the AFU and the RF Armed Forces, during which two Ukrainian tanks were destroyed, while the Russian equipment was not damaged.
The Russian troops entrenched on the left bank of the Oskol Reservoir and continue their offensive.
Izyum direction:
It is reported that unexploded Ukrainian shells in the city are being cleared on a daily basis. A bridge over the Seversky Donets River connecting the southern and northern parts of the city is announced to have been restored. The electricity and water supply has almost been restored too.
Fighting is currently taking place near the settlements of Grushevakha, Dolgenkoye and Pashkovo.
Fighting is also taking place near Sviatogorsk, Yampol and around Seversk. At the moment, Russian troops made no attempts to cross the Seversky Donets River in this direction. Residents of Seversk are attempting to evacuate the city.
For the purpose of deblocking the 93rd AFU detachment, 3,000 soldiers have been transferred to the vicinity of Izyum. An attempt to cross the Seversky Donets River near the village of Protopopovka was foiled by Russian troops.
Luhansk direction
The Ukrainian military command reports an intensified offensive. The main forces of the allied forces groups are thrown to capture the town of Liman and mop up Popasna. Fierce fighting is taking place near Kremenna and Torskoye.
Ukrainian forces retreated from the southern part of Popasna in the direction of Bakhmut, having blown up a railway bridge in the adjacent Kalinovo-Popasna settlement. The main point of resistance in the north remains the carriage repair plant and adjacent high-rise buildings.
Russian aviation destroyed 20 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment and a radar station near Popasna.
In the vicinity of the town of Rubizhne, fighting is reported in the Kudryashovka and Voyevodka areas. The Chechen leadership reports the capture of Voyevodovka and the clearing of the forest belt in its vicinity.
The People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic reported the elimination of 12 Ukrainian soldiers, two armored personnel carriers, a tank and six vehicles during the past 24 hours. In turn, the Ukrainian armed forces shelled Pervomaisk and Golubovskoye using 122 mm howitzers and 120 mm mortars with eight rounds of ammunition.
During May 6, artillery strikes struck Zolote-5 (80 shells from Grad MLRS). According to preliminary estimates, a woman was killed and two men were wounded; six residential buildings were damaged.
The head of the Ukrainian administration of Severodonetsk, Oleksandr Struk, stated that the Russian Army and the LPR corps were storming the city from several directions. The LNR, for its part, reports fighting already in the eastern quarters of Severodonetsk and the forests from the side of Voyevodka.
Donetsk direction
During May 6, the Ukrainian army struck Yasynuvata (20 Grad MLRS rounds, seven 122-mm howitzer shells), Donetsk (eight 122-mm howitzer shells), Staromikhailovka (heavy machine guns), Gorlovka (five anti-tank grenades), Lozovoye (four 122-mm howitzer shells), Zaitsevo (ten 122-mm howitzer shells).
The DPR army occupied the village of Troitskoye near the settlement of New York, Donetsk region. There are battles on the outskirts of Makiivka near Rozovka.
Aircraft destroyed 4 artillery batteries and 3 ammunition depots near the settlements of Myrna Dolina and Bakhmutskoye.
Mariupol
Humanitarian corridors from the city were organized. Ukrainian military personnel violating the ceasefire regime are being suppressed with fire, including the use of shipboard artillery located in the port of Mariupol. Soldiers of the “Azov” battalion indicated that free exit of civilians will not be carried out except for the conditions of exchange for food and water according to the scheme: 15 civilians for 1 ton of food.

Kherson-Mykolaiv direction
The front line is unchanged: Black Sea, Aleksandrovka, Snegiryovka, Velyka Aleksandrovka, Ivanovka, the Dnieper River. The leadership of the region declared a refusal to restore the railway lines, as they are still under rocket fire.
Transnistria direction
There are reports of activation of Ukrainian troops in the Transnistrian direction. In the area of the checkpoint Cuciurgan began shooting. The fire is coming from the Ukrainian side. There are reports of fire from the area of the village of Pavlovka in the vicinity of the village. Pavlovka near the destroyed railway bridge. Authorities of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic report the suppression of a terrorist attack by the Ukrainian side using a quadcopter carrying explosives.

Despite serious successes by Allied forces in several areas of the Donbass, previously opened fronts such as the Kharkov and Kherson-Nikolayev fronts stagnated. This increases the opportunities for Ukrainians to conduct attacks on Russian territory and carry out sabotage.
