Russia’s Vostok-2018 military exercises are taking place from September 11 to September 17 under the command of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the soil and in the waters of Russia’s Far East and in the neighboring waters of the Pacific Ocean. About 300,000 Russian servicemen, over 1,000 planes, helicopters and drones, at least 36,000 battle tanks, armored fighting vehicles and other vehicles, and up to 80 ships and support vessels are taking place in this biggest post-Soviet war games. Forces from Chinese and Mongolia are also participating in the exercises.
