Nuclear scandal has broke out in Israel after one of Israeli Ministers claimed the possibility of dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, people in the Gaza Strip are already suffering from the bombardments equivalent to the power of several nuclear bombs.
The Israeli Minister of Heritage, member of the far-right Jewish Power party, Amichai Eliyahu has recently declared that the launching of an atomic bomb in the Gaza Strip could be one of the options in the war against Hamas. He also did not agree with allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza. He was cited by The Times of Israel. The statements of the Israeli official, known for his radical positions, have forced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately disavow them. Netanyahu rushed to assure the public that Eliyahu’s words “are far from reality.” The Prime Minister suspended Eliyahu from government meetings until further notice.
Ignoring the murder of thousands of civilians, mostly children, ordered by his government, Netanyahu insisted that the Israeli military is acting “in accordance with the highest standards of international law to prevent harm to people not involved” and will continue to do so until “victory is achieved.”
Claims by Israeli officials provoked international concerns.
Mustafa Barghouti, member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, commented on the issue to Al-Jazeera:
“The minister Eliyahu revealed the Israeli government’s thoughts. … First, he admitted that Israel has nuclear weapons, which is something they always try to hide…
If they succeed in re-occupying the Gaza Strip again, they plan to stay here and annex it. He revealed their intentions when he mentioned renewing settlement constructions in Gaza, and this is supported by another statement by Israeli security official in [the Israeli] Maariv newspaper: “When everything is set and done, the security control over the Gaza strip will be in the hands of Israel”.
They silenced Eliyahu but haven’t removed him from government, nor will they do so. What more proof of genocide plans is needed after killing 6000 children, and still going on? 3800 confirmed, and around 1200 reported lost under the rubble.
Syria called on the international community and the International Atomic Energy Agency to take all measures necessary to uncover Israel’s nuclear program, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
In response to Netanyahu’s claims about Israeli’s efforts to minimize civilian casualties, Hamas reported a horrifying statistics. According to Osama Hamdan, member of the Hamas politburo, Israel has dropped 35,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since October 7. In terms of the scale of destruction, this number of attacks exceeds the impact of a nuclear bomb.

The launch of a nuclear strike still seems unlikely, at least because the consequences will have a large impact on the Israeli territories too. However, the bellicose claims and the ongoing escalation which may involve more foreign actors, provokes significant concerns. On November 6, the US Ohio-class strategic nuclear submarine has arrived in the Middle East. The representative of the Israel Defense Forces welcomed the deployment of the US nuclear submarine in the area of operational responsibility of the CENTCOM, which includes the Middle East, East Africa and Central Asia.
The Ohio-class submarines are nuclear-powered missile submarines and Trident nuclear missile carriers. However, four of them were converted into carriers of non-nuclear Tomahawk cruise missiles. It was not officially revealed, which one came to the Middle East. The submarine was probably deployed in the area to be ready in case Iran enters the conflict.
