The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not stop shelling the territory of the Russian Federation. On September 12, the Russian border regions of Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions were targeted by the Ukrainian military.
A woman was killed in the shelling of the Logachevka border checkpoint in the Belgorod region, four victims were taken to the hospital. According to the local governor, the woman was a citizen of Ukraine born in 1942. The four wounded also include 3 citizens of Ukraine and a resident of Logachevka. As a result of the attack, several buildings, cars and power lines were damaged. The supply of gas and electricity was temporarily stopped.
On the same day, the Russian air defence systems intercepted enemy targets over the city. The shrapnel damaged a house and a car.
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Belgorod region has been constantly shelled by Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian military already killed and wounded several civilians in the border areas, including Ukrainian citizens who fled from hostilities. There is a yellow level of terrorist danger introduced in the Belgorod region, .
On September 12, the AFU also continued shelling the border villages in the Russian Kursk region. The village of Tetkino came under fire again. At least 10 strikes were recorded in the area. As a result of artillery shelling, the local power line, the gas pipeline and 8 houses were damaged.
Amid the ongoing hostilities in the Ukrainian Kharkov region, the threat to the Russian border areas is growing as the AFU are approaching the border and are likely to increase terrorist attacks on civilians on the territory of Russia.
Today, another target of the Ukrainian attack was reportedly the Russian Rostov region. According to local reports, the Russian air defence systems intercepted an enemy target near the village of Chaltyr located on the western outskirts of the city of Rostov-on-Don. A loud explosion was heard at about 3 p.m. local time. The air defense forces fired 2 missiles. The wreckage of the targets fell in the forest area. Some locals claim that a Tochka-U or two missiles were shot down. However, it is unlikely that the target was a Tochka-U missile as it only has a range of about 100 km. Probably, some sabotage groups launched an UAV over the city. The local officials are yet to comment on the incident.
