A vehicle was destroyed and few others were damaged in an IED explosion near the town of Atareb in the southwestern Aleppo countryside on January 30, according to local sources. The vehicles were a part of the Turkish military convoy which was heading to the town of Al Eis in southern Aleppo.

Some sources say that the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

According to unconfirmed reports, two Turkish soliders were killed in the incident.

Sources close to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) already claimed that the convoy was shelled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies.

The convoy was allegedly involved in the Turkish effort to establish an observation point in the area of Al Eis Hill, near the positions of the SAA.
