On November 19, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin participated in an official ceremony marking the completion of the offshore section of the Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline. The 930km-long section runs along the bottom of the Black Sea and is designed to deliver Russian gas to the Turkish market.

Its construction was started in May 2017. It will be continued by a 180km land transit line, which is set to supply the countries of south and southeast Europe with natural gas. The first deliveries via the Turksih Stream are scheduled for the end of 2019.
