A top ISIS member in Deir Ezzor has fled to an area controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the province of Hasakah, the pro-opposition media outlet Al Doras reported on October 3 citing own sources.
According to the report, Mohammed Obeid al-Muhsin (also known as Abu Kharja) joined ISIS in 2014. He was in charge for oil wells near Kashkia village.
However, recently Abu Kharja and his family fled to the SDF-held area.
The media outlet added that many mid-level ISIS members have fled from Deir Ezzor towards the Syrian-Iraqi border where the ISIS stronghold of al-Bukamal is located. However, at least a part of them has fled to the SDF-held area.
