Late on February 27, the Tiger Forces and the Republican Guard advanced in the Hawsh ad Dawahirah area in Damascus’ Eastern Ghouta and captured a number of buildings and an underground tunnels network there. According to pro-government sources, militants suffered “notable” casualties in the area. However, no exact number was provided.
On February 28, a second humanitarian pause entered into force in Eastern Ghouta allowing civilians to leave the rea through opened humanitarian corridors.
On February 26, the Russian Defense Ministry introduced daily humanitarian pauses from 09:00 to 14:00 local time starting from February 27. However, the February 27 pause was sabotaged by militants whom shelled the opened corridors.
