Two fighters from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and another from Lebanese Hezbollah were killed in recent Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

Late on December 7, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had struck a series of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including a position used to fire projectiles at Israel. Later in the early hours of December 8, a combat drone of the IDF targeted a group of fighters near the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farm.

In a statement released on December 7, al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the PIJ, said that two of its fighters, originally from a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria, were killed in southern Lebanon “while performing their combat duty.”

Hezbollah mourned one of its fighters on December 8 morning, saying in a statement that he was killed “on the road to Jerusalem.”

Hezbollah carried out 12 attacks from southern Lebanon on December 7, killing an Israeli civilian and wounding two soldiers. The group’s Military Media also released video footage of some of the recent attacks on the IDF.

Clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out last October after Hezbollah and its allies began launching attacks against the IDF from southern Lebanon in support of the Gaza Strip.

So far, the clashes on the border have claimed the lives of six IDF troops, four Israeli civilians, 92 fighters of Hezbollah, two fighters from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades, one fighter from the Lebanese Resistance Regiments, seven fighters from the Hamas Movement, six fighters from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, one Lebanese soldier, 13 Lebanese civilians and another civilian from Syria.
