A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:

Taliban’s chief for Maymi district of Badakhshan region Zia-ul-Haq was killed and two militants were wounded in a clash with Afghan security forces;
At least 3 soldiers were killed in a Taliban car bomb explosion at a public security base in Gardez, Paktia province;
Afghanistan Minister of Foreign Affairs Haneef Atmar held talks with Pakistan Foreign Secretary Sohial Mahmood in Kabul. Atmar stressed the need to stop rocket attacks from the both sides of the Durand Line, stop the construction of arbitrary military facilities and keep open trade routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
