On December 17, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that its fighters have captured the village of Jaras Sharqi on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq reported that ISIS fighters killed 3 fighters of the SDF during clashes in the village of Abu Hardub in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside on December 17.
Meanwhile in the city of Raqqa, the SDF announced that it has discovered a media production center of ISIS in al-Ramilah district. The video production equipment and orange jump suits similar to the ones used by ISIS in several propaganda videos were found in the media center.
The SDF also discovered an ammo depot in al-Wadi district in Raqqa. The ammo depot contained large caliber mortar rounds that was locally manufactured by ISIS.
Experts believe that the SDF will need months to clear Raqqa from all IEDs, mines and weapons that were left behind by ISIS fighters.
