On June 16, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) hammered a Turkish military post in the southern part of the Greater Idlib region.
According to several pro-opposition sources, including the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, several shells landed in the vicinity of the post, which is located in the town of Sarjah in the al-Zawiya Mount.
No casualties or material losses were reported as a result of the shelling, which was most likely a response to Turkey’s military support to Greater Idlib militants.

In response to the shelling, the Turkish military pounded SAA positions in the town of Kafr Nabil in the southern countryside of Idlib. There were no losses.
Last week, the Turkish military shelled a number of government-held towns and villages in Idlib and Hama in response to a series of Russian and Syrian strikes which targeted al-Qaeda’s Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies. At least nine militants, including a spokesman of the terrorist group, were killed in the strikes.
The SAA didn’t tolerate Turkey’s support for HTS. The army shelled Turkish posts and targeted two vehicles with anti-tank guided missiles.
Turkey’s support for HTS and its allies is jeopardizing the ceasefire in Greater Idlib. A dangerous military confrontation may break out in the region soon.
