The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has uncovered several weapons caches in the town of al-Harrah in the western Daraa countryside.

A Syrian officer told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on September 26 that the weapons were uncovered in the course of a combing operation, which was carried out in cooperation with the locals.

The uncovered weapons included:

  • A U.S.-made TOW anti-tank guided missile along with a battery for the launcher;
  • A Soviet-made Konkurs ATGM;
  • A Russian-made MRO-A thermobaric rocket launcher;
  • A Soviet-made RPG-26 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade.

Al-Harrah overlooks a large section of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The town’s hilltop used to host a joint Syrian-Russian signal intelligence (SIGINT) base.

The SAA stepped up its search operations in the southern region recently. Earlier this week, the army uncovered loads of weapons and ammunition, including 60 Grad rockets, in the region.
