Heavy clashes are ongoing in the eastern subrub of Syrian capital, Damascus, between the Syrian amry and US-backed ‘oppositioneers.’
According to pro-government sources, Jaish al-Islam militants shelled government-controlled areas in the neighborhood of Qaboun on Friday. As result 3 locals were wounded.
Separately, firefights and rocket shellings were reported near the neighborhood of Jobar, controlled by militants.
The developments came amid reports that the Syrian army has been withdrawing from the curcial supply route at Aleppo city, the Castello Highway. The Russian Defense Ministry also said that militant groups “controlled by the US” have intensified their shelling of residential areas and the government forces’s positions across the country.
