ISIS has launched a largeattack on positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the districts of Hweika al-Gharbiah and Al-Muzafin in Deir Ezzor city and the Al-Makbarah area. ISIS militants captured some of the points in the Hweika al-Gharbiah district, but the SAA repelled the attack.
Syrian Air Force warplanes targeted ISIS positions east of the Deir Ezzor military airport, west of the Al-Sanouf hill, in the Al-Makbarah area, Al-Jeneina, Baghilya, Ayyash and the vicinity of Tel Brok.
Syrian and Russian cargo planes dropped 26 containers containing food for civilians in Harbash and Jafra districts in Deir Ezzor city.
According to local sources, the US-led coalition carried out an air landing operation in the area of Hamidiya near Al-Bukamal city yesterday. During the operation, the US Special Forces killed 8 ISIS fighters.
Meanwhile, US-led coalition warplanes intensified airstrikes on ISIS targets in Al-Bukamal. According to local sources, the civilians began leaving the city due to airstrikes and the fear of a US-led attack.
On the other hand, ISIS began to dig trenches and tunnels in Al-Bukamal located at the Syrian-Iraqi border. ISIS also transported heavy weapons to the city and planted many mines and IEDs in order to repel any surprise attack by the Free Syrian Army with a US support.
