The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have liberated the area of Jund Al-Aqsa from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in the western countryside of the Aleppo city, accoding to local media activists and pro-government sources.
Clashes in Jund Al-Aqsa have been reported since the start of the week, however, on February 22, the army and the NDF prevailed on Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and seized a full control of the area.
Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham is a coalition of varios militant groups led by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda). Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham controls wide areas in the Aleppo-Idlib countryside.
