On December 27, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) entered the village of Mughr al-Mir and Marwan Hill north of the town of Beit Jinn in the Western Ghouta region, according to Syrian pro-government sources.

The sources said that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies had withdrawn from the village as a part of their agreement with the SAA.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that over twenty green buses arrived to the town of Sa’sa’ in the northern part of Western Ghouta. The buses will carry HTS fighters to the northern Idlib governorate and few fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) to Daraa governorate.

Pro-government activists said that HTS and FSA fighters should withdraw from Western Ghouta on December 28. However, many fighters of HTS, mainly foreigners, are still refusing to withdraw from the region.

If HTS violates the deal, the SAA and its allies will likely continue their military operation in Western Ghouta and try to eliminate all HTS and FSA fighters there.
