Syrian Army Captures Dozens Of ATGMs, Large Amount Of Weapons And Equipment From ISIS (Videos, Photos)South Front

On December 9, the Syrian state-run TV released a video showing weapons and ammunition captured by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) from ISIS during its military operation in the area between the cities of al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

The SAA captured over 30 anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), including Soviet-made missiles like Konkurs, Fagot, Metis, Russian-made Kornet-E, Metis-M, US-made TOW, Chinese-made HJ-8 Red arrow and Bulgarian-made Faktoria. The SAA also captured 2 Kornet-E launchers, 2 Konkurs launchers and 6 Metis-M launchers with several thermal sights.

The SAA also captured the following heavy weapons:

a T-55 tank and a 1 T-72 tank equipped with the Syrian-made Sarab Active Protection System (APS) previously captured from the SAA by ISIS;
two BMP-1 armored vehicles;

5 vehicles armed with 23mm guns, and one vehicle armed with a 57mm gun;

a Soviet-made M-30 122 mm howitzer, a Soviet-made D-30 122-mm howitzer and an US-made M777 155 mm howitzer.

The SAA also captured a huge amount of ammunition, a large number of light weapons and night vision equipment.

An officer of the SAA told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that many of the captured weapons are made by the US and its allies like the TOW missiles and M777 howitzers, or supplied by the US to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) previously like Bulgarian-made Faktoria missiles.
