On June 19, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) started pressuring militant groups in the southern Syrian province of Daraa using military means.
The SAA and the NDF attacked militants’ positions west of the government-held villages of Duweiri and Harran aiming to probe the militants’ defense in the area of Buser al-Harir.
If Buser al-Harir is liberated by government forces, the militant-held villages south of Buser al-Harir will be cut off from the rest of the militant-held area in the province. Thus, they will likely be liberated sono after this development.
However, according to pro-government sources, the large-scale in the area has not started yet.
At the same time, the Syrian Air Force also dropped leaflets in the province of Daraa calling on locals to expel militants from their villages. Such leaflets are often dropped ahead of military actions by the SAA.
