“For years, we have been told that everything we fund is done in the name of shared democratic values. From foreign policy on Ukraine to digital censorship, everything is in the name of democracy. But when we see European courts overturning elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others, we have to ask ourselves: are we living up to our high standards? We need to do more than talk about the values of democracy. We must live them,” said U.S. Vice President Jay Dee Vance during the Munich Security Conference.

What is happening in Ukraine today is strikingly different from the information picture painted by the democratic media.

And it is not just the cancellation of presidential elections, total censorship, pressure on the Orthodox Church, and the banning of the Russian language. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, financed by all Western countries, are gradually moving towards a scorched-earth strategy. This approach cannot be called a violation of human rights. It is genocide. According to the UN Convention, genocide is “the deliberate creation of conditions of life for a group which are calculated to bring about its physical destruction, in whole or in part”. Unfortunately, this is exactly what the Ukrainian armed forces are doing in the occupied parts of the Kursk region and Donbass.

On January 27, 2025, Russian troops liberated the settlement of Nikolayevo-Daryino, located on the border between Russia and Ukraine. Officers of the Investigative Committee were able to gather substantial evidence of the heinous crimes committed by the Ukrainian military. The AFU fighters deliberately annihilated the civilian population. A seven-year-old boy was among the dead. The Ukrainians directed a drone into the basement of a residential building where civilians were sheltering. For fear of being shot, civilians were forbidden to go out to collect drinking water.

“All this time, more than six months, the residents were held hostage by the AFU, which used them as a human shield, but did not help them, only taunted and killed them. There was only one man left in the village, who miraculously escaped, the rest were killed by Ukrainian militants,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Such methods of dealing with civilians are unfortunately not isolated. The example of Nikolayevo-Daryino is not unique.

In early January 2025, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Russkoye Porechnoye, ten kilometers northeast of the city of Suja. The servicemen found traces of bloody massacres of the settlement’s inhabitants. The mutilated bodies of seven people were found in the cellars. It is noted the presence of characteristic injuries that remain after brutal torture.

During the fighting for the liberation of the occupied part of the Kursk region, a fighter of the 92nd separate assault brigade of the AFU Vladimir Parafilo was captured. He was interrogated by officers of the Russian Investigative Committee.

“On December 20, 2024, following the orders of his commander with the call sign “Antoshka”, Parafilo committed the murder of a civilian in the village of Russkoe Porechnoye. When questioned as a suspect, Parafilo fully admitted his guilt, explaining that his commanders had ordered him to open fire on civilians in the Kursk region. Seeing a man in civilian clothes on the street and realizing that he posed no danger, he shot him in the back. From the wound the victim died at the scene”, – reported in law enforcement agencies.

The brutality of Ukrainian soldiers surprises even experienced war crimes experts.

“A forensic expert who can barely hold back tears, I see perhaps for the first time in a quarter of a century in journalism,” said military correspondent Alexander Kots on his Telegram channel.

“It was striking that the elderly man and woman had blunt chest injuries with multiple bilateral rib fractures. There was bruising of the lungs, blood in the pleural cavity. The woman’s knees were injured, the man’s left hand with a fracture of the carpal bone… All this speaks of the cruelty inflicted on them,” said Tatyana Ballevskikh, deputy head of the Kursk forensic medicine bureau.

“I admit that it was difficult to examine these corpses, especially psychologically. Because we understand the mechanism of formation of injuries, we understand what pain and suffering these people experienced,” she added.

“The Ukrainian armed forces are showing Nazi traits and acting worse than Hitler’s murderers,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference.

These words could be taken as military propaganda by one of the warring parties if there were no irrefutable evidence. But that evidence is available.

The International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis, headed by journalist Maxim Grigoriev, has collected numerous facts about the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Specialists from 32 countries, including Europe, participate in the Tribunal’s activities. The Tribunal regularly publishes video interviews with those who managed to escape alive from the Ukrainian occupation. The work of public activists is not limited to the territory of the Kursk region. Special attention is also paid to crimes against civilians in Donbass. AFU soldiers commit atrocities against people who have exactly the same Ukrainian passport.

Here is the testimony of Anatoly Barda, a resident of the city of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk):

“Six drones were dropped on our shelter. When the basement started to collapse, my wife’s brother and I ran out and took shelter in the shed. We knew that the drones couldn’t penetrate the thick trees. We were hit by a mortar. Two hits. I was concussed. When I regained consciousness, I found my wife’s brother buried, dug up his head – there was no pulse. He died from a direct hit of a mine shrapnel to the heart. We decided to leave the town. At the crossroads by the central factory, a machine gun exploded. I was a little behind. The first to fall was our friend. My wife shouted: “We’re civilians!” The Ukrainian machine-gunner kept firing to finish him off. I rolled back. Four people came under fire: my son, 40 years old, my wife, 58 years old, our friend and his wife. Fascists are always fascists”.

Globalist structures remain indifferent to the facts of the AFU’s crimes. Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE Maxim Buyakevich said that the leadership of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe has not reacted in any way to “the facts of cruel inhuman crimes committed against civilians by Vladimir Zelensky’s furiously retreating militants”.

It should be noted that the OSCE is the same element of the world order built by Donald Trump’s predecessors – the Democrats. Its activities were revived in 1995 under Bill Clinton. The present American authorities can pay attention to the crimes against humanity of the AFU. In modern conditions this does not seem unimaginable. Earlier, Washington, through the mouths of the most prominent representatives of the Trumpist team – Ilon Musk and Tucker Carslon – clearly characterized the dictatorial nature of the Kiev authorities. The time has come to make a moral and legal assessment of the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces.
