A new shocking video has exposed the mistreatment of Middle Eastern refugees in Lithuania on the hands of the authorities who are supposed to protect them.
The video, which surfaced online on April 13, shows what appears to be members of Lithuanian security forces pepper spraying refugees, including a little girl, right in the face simply for looking outside of their window in an unspecified refugee camp.

Hundreds of Middle Eastern refugees, mainly from troubled countries like Syria, Iraq and Libya, arrived in Lithuania in the last few years.
Lithuania, a member of the European Union and the NATO, continues to hold these refugees in an inhuman condition. The country’s refugee camps are closed and tightly guarded, like prisons. Human rights violations and serious crimes, like rape, are through to be taking place in these camps. Security forces, which is filled with nationalists, is allegedly responsible for most of these violations.

Despite repeated reports about the mistreatment of Middle Eastern refugees in Lithuania, the country’s government is yet to admit the problem or take measures to resolve it. The EU has been also turning a blind eye to the situation in the country’s refugee camps.
Lithuania has been blaming Belarus and even Russia for its refugee crisis, while ignoring its own acts. The country will not likely be able to dodge its responsibilities for too long.
