The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) may hand over the Tabiyah oil field and its nearby facilities to pro-government forces.
According to reports refering pro-Damascus journalists operating on the ground, units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have already entered the oil field area.
However, no photos or videos confirming them are available right now.
This development may indicate the first step in the reconciliation between the SAA and the SDF in the province of Deir Ezzor.
Tensions between the sides have beeen growing since the US-backed force launched an advance north of Deir Ezzor aiming to seize key oil and gas infrastructure on the eastern bank of the Euphrates while the SAA fights ISIS in Deir Ezzor city.
