On Thursday, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured the Al-Monna Mosque, the Al-Bustan and Garages areas in Hisham Bin Abdul Malik district in the southern part of Raqqa city.
During its advance, the SDF killed 26 ISIS fighters. SDF fighters also repelled an attack of two ISIS groups on their positions in Al-Rawdah district in the eastern part of the city. SDF fighters destroyed 2 VBIEDs and killed 9 ISIS fighters.
From its side, ISIS claimed that 11 SDF fighters were killed during the attack near the Al-Atiq Mosque in the center of Raqqa.
ISIS also claimed that its snipers killed 3 SDF fighters and wounded 2 others yesterday.
According to opposition sources, US-led coalition warplanes carried out 44 airstrikes on Raqqa city during the past 48 hours. The sources claimed that 5 civilians, including children, lost their life as a result of the US-led collation air campaign.
Local sources confirmed that SDF has succeeded in tightening the siege on ISIS in the southern part of Raqqa where most of the districts have been captured by the US-backed forces.
