Warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition carried out a series of airstrikes on Houthi forces in the district of Kushar in the northwestern Yemeni province of Hajjah on February 16.

The coalition released a video showing its warplanes destroying five vehicles, some armed with heavy weapons, and a mortar position of the Houthis. Precision-guided munitions (PGMs) were clearly used in the airstrikes.

These airstrikes were carried out in support of Saudi-backed Yemeni forces, which are currently besieged by the Houthis in the area of Hujur, near Kushar. The besieged forces suffered from heavy loses while repelling several attacks by the Houthis in the last few days.

A recent report by the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV revealed the Saudi-led coalition is preparing to launch a large-scale military operation to left the Houthis siege of its proxies in Hujur. The operation will likely begin in the next few days.

Hujur is considered a strategic area as it is located only 150 north of the coastal city of al-Hudaydah, the last main supply route of the Houthis.
