On Wednesday, an official Saudi source denied that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia asked for “any form of mediation” with Iran according to a report of the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”. They source said that Saudi Arabia can’t negotiate with the current Iranian regime.
“The Kingdom believes that the current Iranian regime cannot be negotiated with after a long experience that has shown that it is a regime which does not respect diplomatic rules and norms and the principles of international relations and it is a system perpetuating lying and distorting facts, affirming the Kingdom’s emphasis on the danger of the Iranian regime and its aggressive orientations to peace and world stability” the official source told SPA.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on August 15 that Iran didn’t receive any Saudi signs that indicate the kingdom willingness to improve its relations with Iran. Qassemi hoped that Saudi Arabia will accept the facts in Yemen and stop the war.
On August 13, the Iraqi Minster of interior Qassiem al-Araji claimed that Saudi officials asked Iraq to intermediate between them and Iran to solve many cases, including Yemen war. However, al-Araji officially withdrew its statement today after the Saudi denied any such request.
