The Russian army resumed active offensive operations in the border Kursk region, repelling the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their strongholds and grinding enemy in new cauldrons. In recent days, the advancing Russian forces have achieved new victories both in the area of Sudzha as well as in the border areas of the Glushkovsky district.

The Russian army advanced and took control of large areas around Sudzha. The main advance was achieved on the northwestern flank of the Ukrainian garrison in the Sudzha area. Russian forces cut off the strategically important road from Sudzha to Korenevo, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted attacks on the outskirts of the town but failed to gain a foothold and were repelled.

On October 10th, the Russian military has launched a new phase of its offensive in the Kursk region and launched assaults in the areas of Lyubimovka and Malaya Loknya. The advancing Russian forces are aimed to take the Ukrainian units in a cauldron south of Korenevo.

As a result of Russian attacks, Ukrainian defense was destroyed. As of October 11th, sources from the front reported Russian control of the villages of Lyubimovka, Zelyony Shlyah, Pokrovsky, Nizhny Klin in the Kursk region. The mop up operations are ongoing in Novoivanovka and Tolsty Lug.

Ukrainian forces were not allowed to retreat despite the rapid Russian offensive. As a result, the Ukrainian grouping that attempted to resist in Lyubimovka was almost completely surrounded and suffered heavy losses. The results of the battle for the village are yet to be revealed.

As a result of the Russian breakthrough, Ukrainian military communications and supplies in tha large area were disrupted. Russian UAVs are assessing the results of failed Ukrainian attacks along the road to Korenevo and count enemy losses on a small part of the front:

Ukrainian forces that remain south of Korenevo are grinded by Russian fire. They were repelled from Olgovka and are forced to flee further to the south. Ukrainian soldiers are fleeing to Sudzha until the cauldron is closed. The Ukrainian military command took some of its forces from Olgovka to Leonidovka and Novoivanovka in an attempt to reinforce the broken defense and slow down Russian advance.

South of Sudzha, Russian forces continue attacks in Plekhovo. The village was already surrounded from three directions. Russian forces took control of a large forest area north of the village and cut the road from Plekhovo to Mahnovka. Clashes were reported near Russkaya Konopelka and the Russian military is expected to launch assault on Cherkasskaya Konopelka.

At the same time, Russian forces launched large counterattacks in the border Glushkovsky district. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled from the areas of Veseloe, Medvezhie and Obuhovka. Ukrainian strongholds were destroyed. According to preliminary reports, the retreating Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses, some of Ukrainian servicemen were captured prisoners. As a result, they retreated to the border. Clashes continued in the area of Novy Put.

Russian offensive in the Kursk region is gaining momentum and its result may play a decisive role in the further development of the entire conflict.
