One of the main targets for Russian missiles in the Ukrainian Odessa region is the bridge across the Dniester Estuary located in the town of Zatoka.

Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the bridge has been hit at least 4 times. Ukrainian sources reported that it was repaired. However, it seems that the bridge is now out of service and cannot be repaired.

The last strike reportedly hit the bridge on July 16. Two days later, the Ukrainian Operational Command South confirmed that Russian strikes hit three targets in the Odessa region. Two missiles hit a military facility and another hit a bridge across the Dniester estuary.

The footage was later shared online. The attack was carried out with aviation guided missile X-59MK2 which destroyed the pylons of the bridge.

The bridge across the Dniester River is of strategic importance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as it was actively used for transfer of weapons and ammunition to Ukrainian forces from the western states.

Last night, military facilities of the AFU in the Odessa region were also hit by Russian missiles. On July 19th, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported the destruction of ammunition depots in the area of the settlement of Belenke. Weapons supplied by the United States and European countries to Ukraine were stored there.
