Fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) carried out another series of air strikes, targeting positions of Syria’s militants in southern Idlib governorate.
In early hours of September 6, the VKS bombarded militant hideouts near the villages of Kansafrah, al-Fterah and Ain Larouz in Jabal al-Zawiyah region in the southern countryside of Idlib.
No casualties have been reported, yet.
Russian warplanes attacked positions of Turkish-backed forces in Ehsim area. The video showing the Turkish convoy moving through the village as Russian airstrikes were seen in the background, was published on social media.
At the same time, forces of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) artillery hit militant positions in Kansafra in Jabal al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib.
The situation in Greater Idlib remains tense. The SAA and Russian warplanes continue targeting militant positions in Syria’s Idlib on a daily basis in response to regular ceasefire violations. The ceasefire was brokered by Russia and Turkey on 5 March 2020, however, local fighters are yet to abide by the agreement.
