The Russian army continues assault in the village of Novomikhailovka in the Southern Donetsk direction where Russian forces have achieved new gains.
On March 3, Russian servicemen shared the footage from the very center of the village, where the assault detachments of the 155 Marine Brigade installed several Russian flags:
As a result of successful offensive operations, the Russian military advanced from the southern part of the village and gained a foothold in the center. Footage confirmed Russian control of the local Church of the Archangel Michael. A part of Shevchenko and Sobornaya Streets came under the control of Russian forces.
According to the latest reports from the frontlines, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are in control of the local school and the Palace of Culture located in the center to the northwest of the Russian stronghold.
The ongoing advance of Russian forces confirm their full control of the industrial area in the south of the village, as well as of several residential districts nearby. The AFU attempt counterattacks in the farmlands in the south of Novomikhailovka, but so far to no avail. Any footage is yet to confirm Russian control of the eastern part of the village; but the ongoing advance of the Russian troops is likely to forces the AFU to withdraw forces to the western part of the village in an attempt to avoid their encirclement.
