The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are developing offensive in different directions in Ukraine. One of the most rapid Russian advances is ongoing on the southern frontlines. On March 5th, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed control of the village of Privolnoe located northwest of Velikaya Novoselka.
Russian victory in Privolnoe was reported a day ago. Motorized rifle units of the 394th Guards Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Army took control of the village and continue offensive on the villages of Volny Pole and Shevchenko located nearby.
The battle for Privolnoe continued for several days. Despite the small size of the village, Ukrainian forces were fiercely resisting, launching counterattacks, but they were repelled. On Monday, March 3, Vladimir Putin awarded the 394th regiment the rank of Guards, and the very next day the unit won another important victory.
According to Ukrainian military reporters, Russian troops have already advanced west of Privolnoe. Clashes are reportedly ongoing on the hills between Volnoe Pole and Shevchenko. Assault on Volnoe Pole is already ongoing, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are retreating to Shevchenko.
Gaining a foothold on the hills, Russian forces will break through the first line of Ukrainian defense in Shevchenko. This village is an important military stronghold of Ukrainian defense on the southern frontlines. Russian control of strongholds near Shevchenko is very important for the further advance to the north and west.
The Russian army is rapidly expanding its zone of control, advancing in different directions from the town of Velikaya Novoselka. On March 1st, the Ministry of Defense officially confirmed the full control of Burlatskoe. The newly shared footage showed the battle for the village.
