The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue repelling Ukrainian forces from the Russian territory in the Kursk region. In recent days, the Russian military has regained control of another village and expanded its area of control in different directions.

The Russian military continued active offensive operations in different areas in the Sudzha district. As a result of heavy battles, Russian forces took control of the village of Plekhovo located south of the main Ukrainian stronghold in the region, Sudzha. Almost the entire village of Plekhovo was liberated by Russian forces back in November but the Armed Forces of Ukraine held control of the local farms located on the outskirts.

On the evening of December 7th, Russian Marines from the 810th Brigade reported the full control of Plekhovo. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been resisting there for a long time, trying to prevent Russian troops reaching one of the main logistics routes in the region. There is a lot of destroyed military equipment abandoned by the retreating Ukrainian soldiers on the streets and near the village. As a result of heavy battles, Russian forces also advanced towards the village of Kurilovka. Russian bridgehead south of Sudzha is growing threatening Ukrainian stronghold.

On the northern flank, Ukrainian assault groups with tanks continue attacks on the village of Daryino in an attempt to gain a foothold on its southern outskirts but no NATO tanks help them to achieve this goal. German Leopard tanks are burning on the outskirts together with Western armored vehicles and Ukrainian tanks.

In recent days, Russian forces have straightened the frontlines north of Sverdlikovo and west of Kruglenkoe. Meanwhile, battles continue on the southern outskirts of Pogrebki.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost their initiative in the Kursk region long ago but do not retreat from the Russian territory despite heavy losses in manpower and military equipment.
