Forced to send reinforcement to stop Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing more and more strongholds in other directions. On May 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the full control of the village of Ivanovka in the Kupyansk direction in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian military sources confirm the retreat of the Ukrainian military.
The first reports from the battlefield confirmed Russian control of the village of Kotlyarovka on May 25. Servicemen of the Russian 47th Tank Division shared videos from the settlement with the Russian flags, claiming that there were no more Ukrainian forces.
Ivanovka became the third village liberated by the Russian army in a month in the Kupyansk direction. The villages of Kotlyarovka and Kislovka recently came under the full Russian control. Thus, Russian troops are expanding the zone of their control on a wide front along the Kotlyarovka-Kislova-Ivanovka line.
Having secured their positions in the village of Ivanovka, Russian forces continue to move along the hill to the new defensive line of the AFU, approaching Stepovaya Novoselovka.
