Russian Army Took Control Of Eight Villages In A Week

On February 28th, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation summed up the interim results of the ongoing military operations in Ukraine. Another week of hostilities was marked by a series of victories of the Russian army.

From February 22nd to February 28th, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched nine group strikes with precision air-launched weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles. The targets of Russian strikes included energy facilities, the infrastructure of military airfields, fuel depots and military facilities across the country. According to the Russian military, all designated targets were hit.

The air defense forces also have good results. During the week, they shot down Ukrainian MiG-29 and 702 Ukrainian aircraft-type UAVs.

Russian troops advanced in almost all directions. The Ministry of Defense officially confirmed the full control of eight more settlement in different directions.

The North group of forces gained most of the victories. They liberated four more villages in the Kursk region. They include Pogrebki, Orlovka, Nikolsky and Novaya Sorochina. The first field reports about the liberation of the two latter settlements came on February 27th. All the mentioned villages are located on the northern flank of the Ukrainian grouping in Sudzha. Russian breakthrough indicates the destruction of another line of Ukrainian defense in this direction. The Russian army is advancing on a wide front along the Malaya Loknya River, as well as on other flanks around Sudzha.

The West group of troops is advancing on the northern Donbass frontlines and took control of two villages. These are Novolyubovka in the Luganks People’s Republic and Topoli in the Kupyansk direction in the Kharkiv region.

Forces of the Russian South group of forces eliminated the pocket of Ukrainian resistance west of Kurakhovo. On February 23rd, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed the full control of Ulakly, the last Ukrainian stronghold east of Konstantinopol.

The Center group of forces continues offensive on a wide front along the Konstantinopol-Pokrovsk line. On February 23rd, the full control of Novoandreevka was officially confirmed.

The East group of forces continues expanding its zone of control north of Velikaya Novoselka. After their victories in Novoocherevatoe and Novoselka, Russian forces are securing their positions, straightening the front in the field areas nearby.

Thus, over the past week alone, Kiev lost eight settlements, as well as 8,680 soldiers killed and wounded.

The military command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was forced to send large reserves to stop Russian offensive around the strategically impoortant city of Pokrovsk. Russian advance was stopped, but as a result, Ukrainian defense is crumbling in all other directions.
