The Russian military shot down more than two suicide dozen drones over seven different regions and destroyed uncrewed suicide boats in the Black Sea while repelled a large-scale Ukrainian attack overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on June 8.
In a statement, the ministry said that two drones were intercepted over the Rostov region, three over the Belgorod region, one over the Bryansk region, one over the Tula region, three over the Astrakhan region, five nine over the Crimean Peninsula and six more over the Krasnodar region. No losses were reported in the targeted regions.
The Russian military also destroyed two boats in the Black Sea which were heading towards Crimea, according to the ministry.
Video footage released by the ministry showed a Ka-27PS helicopter of the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet engaging one of the boats.
In addition to the attack reported by the ministry, Russian media said that three Ukrainian drones were shot down over North Ossetia–Alania. There were no reports of any losses.
A day earlier, Kiev forces attacked Russian territory with more than 20 drones, with most of them shot down by Russian air defenses. At least 20 civilians were also wounded when Kiev forces launched American-made ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles at a residential area in the Lugansk region.
In addition, Kiev forces attacked a small shop in the settlement of Sadovoe in the Kherson region using guided bombs and American-made M142 HIMARS guided rockets, killing at least 22 civilians, including children, and wounding more than 17 others.
The recent attacks on Russian territory were likely carried out by the Kiev regime to make up for the failure of its forces on the battlefield.
The Russian military will certainly respond to these attacks. Past week, at least 27 Russian group strikes hit military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine, further degrading the military capabilities of the Kiev regime.
