Russian advance in the Avdeevka direction does not stop. The Ukrainian military is rapidly retreating from one stronghold to another. After their victory in Ocheretino, Russian forces are expanding the zone of their control in different directions.
On April 27, reports from the front claimed significant Russian advance north of Avdeevka. The small village of Keramik located northeast of Ocheretino came under the Russian control. Both Russian and Ukrainian military sources confirm Russian breck through Ukrainian defense.
The assault on the village reportedly began in the morning of April 27. After several hours of the battles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could no longer defend their positions in the settlement. Aas a result, the Ukrainian brigade deployed in Keramik began to retreat. The mop up operation is ongoing.
Earlier on April 27, some Russian military correspondents reported on the liberation of the town of Novokalinovo located nearby. Ukrainian sources also confirm Russian advance in the settlement. The Russian Ministry of Defense is yet to officially confirm the control of the town.
The assault in Novokalinovo is launched by forces of the 132nd Gorlovka Brigade of the 1st Army Corps of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian military attempts counterattacks on the outskirts, while the mop up operation is ongoing.
Russian victories pave the way for the further assault on Arhangelskoe from several directions. Clashes are already ongoing in the village.
Advance on the northern flank of Avdeevka forced the AFU to retreat from their last strongholds on the line of their defense west of Avdeevka. On April 27, Russian servicemen raised their flags on the western outskirts of Berdychi and in Semenovka.
