On the eve of negotiations with the US in Saudi Arabia, the Kiev regime expectedly attempted another bloody provocation. On the night of March 11th, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched the most massive wave of drone strikes in Russian rear regions.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the attack, confirming that it had purely political goals and targeted Russian civilian infrastructure.

On the night of March 11, on the eve of the US-Ukrainian talks, the Kiev regime launched a massive wave of strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation using unmanned aerial vehicles in order to demonstrate Ukraine’s ability to continue hostilities.

In total, 343 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted and destroyed by Russian air defense in ten rear regions. They included:

  • 91 UAVs intercepted in the Moscow region
  • 126 UAVs intercepted in the Kursk region
  • 38 UAVs in the Bryansk region
  • 25 UAVs in the Belgorod region
  • 22 UAVs in the Ryazan region
  • 10 UAVs in the Kaluga region
  • 8 UAVs in the Lipetsk region
  • 8 UAVs in the Oryol region
  • 6 UAVs in the Voronezh region
  • 3 UAVs in the region of Nizhny Novgorod.

The Russian military stressed out that six Ukrainian kamikaze drones targeted the Kursk nuclear power plant, but they were intercepted by Russian forces. In general, the night attack was repelled and it resulted to no significant damage. Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties as a result of the strikes. Ukrainian drones damaged civilian houses, apartment buildings, enterprises, cars etc.

The capital city of Moscow came under the most massive attack since the beginning of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. As a result of the strikes, Ukrainian drones and their wreckage damaged exclusively civilian infrastructure. At least 20 civilians, including three children, were killed and wounded in the Moscow region. At least three men were killed by the wreckage of an intercepted UAV that fell on the parking lot near the civilian enterprise of Miratorg on the southern outskirts of the city.

Teh footage from Moscow revealed that the UAVs were equipped with cluster munitions aimed at inflicting maximum damage to civilian population.

The terrorist tactics correspond to the media goal of the bloody provocation of the Kiev regime. The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation recalled that the visits of foreign delegations to Moscow are often accompanied by Kiev’s provocations. Today, the OSCE Secretary General came to Russian capital.

The attack was launched right on the eve of the first public round of negotiations between Kiev and Washington, which are beginning in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Kiev hoped that today’s MSM headlines about the massive strikes in Moscow could hide the strategic defeat of the Ukrainian military ground down in the Russian Kursk region.

Negotiations in Jeddah may be the last chance for Ukrainians to gain back American support and assure Washington to resume the full-fledged military supplies. Playing muscles, Kiev tries to show its ability to resist and continue fighting, of course with support from the West, particularly from the US.

At the same time, the Ukrainian leadership follows the order of its patrons in Europe and reportedly insists on partial ceasefire regime, which supposes suspension of strikes in the rear regions and restriction of military operations in the Black Sea. This is the hypocritical way that Kiev tries to demonstrate its readiness for negotiations and ceasefire. Obviously, any partial ceasefire regime is much more beneficial to the Ukrainian military.

The most massive Ukrainian drone strikes are repelled by Russian air defense and have no impact on balance of power on the frontlines. The limited damage caused by Ukrainian strikes on the Russian rear civilian infrastructure cannot be compared to the devastating results of the constant precision strikes of hundreds of Russian drones and missiles on Ukrainian military, industrial, energy and other facilities across the country. Moscow also should not agree on the suspension of military operations in the sea, because the fate of the southern regions of Odessa and Mykolaiv is yet to be determined, and the Black Sea Fleet may enter the military scene soon.
