On February 23rd, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed the full control of the villages of Ulakly and Novoandreevka in the DPR.
In fact, the village of Ulakly came under full Russian control several days ago. Russian flags were raised on its western outskirts on February 23rd. Since then, Russian forces secured their control of the settlement and its outskirts.
Fighters of the 39th Guard Brigade from the Russian Far East shared footage of the battle for the village. The video shows Russian attacks on armored vehicles on the southeastern outskirts of the village. After Ukrainian defense was broken, Russian forces took control of the eastern part of Ulakly. The video shows the mop up operations and evacuation of civilians from the ruined village. As a result of heavy battles, Russian flag is waving on the western outskirts of Ulakly, confirming the full control of the village.
The battle for Ulakly lasted a week. The first reports about Russian foothold on the outskirts came on February 15th. Ukrainian attempts to resist and save control of the settlement failed. Battles are already ongoing in Konstantinopol and Russian assault on the town from the east is likely to begin in the coming days.
