The second day of Russian offensive around Avdeevka ended with significant gains of the Russian military. At the same time, Ukrainian military positions are heavily pounded by artillery, bombs and missiles.
On the southern outskirts of the town, Russian troops crossed the railway and entered the forest area nearby.
According to Ukrainian military sources, Russian assault armored group broke through Ukrainian defence south-east of the village of Severnoye.

North-west of Avdeevka, Russian forces took control of a strategically important stronghold on a dominant height near the Avdeevka coke chemical plant. Ukrainian manpower and equipment hidden on the territory of the large plant is burning as a result of Russian strikes for several days in a row.

Heavy battles are ongoing near the village of Berdychi north of Avdeevka. Russian units are advancing south-east of the village, simultaneously surrounding Stepovoe (Petrovskoe). According to preliminary reports, Stepovoe came under Russian control, but any footage is yet to confirm the reports. The mop up operation continues in the area.
