Since the very beginning of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine in 2022, the Russian Federation has been declaring that its goals were ‘demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine’ as a condition for ensuring Russia’s security. While the Western warmongers have always been pushing the further escalation, providing the obsolete Ukrainian army with advanced weapons and man power, deployment of so-called peacekeepers etc, the Kremlin learned the harsh lesson of trust to its Western patrons and refused the hypocritical initiatives of the peace settlement in Ukraine, which were aimed at giving benefits to the Kiev regime.
The military operations in Ukraine are part of a large international conflict. Amid the ongoing negotiations with Washington and, probably prospects of some new agreements, Russian President Vladimir Putin made outstanding claims, revealing one of the possible ways to peace in Ukraine, which is acceptable for Moscow.
On March 27, President Putin proposed discussing with the United States, European countries, as well as Russia’s “partners and friends” the possibility of imposing temporary international governance in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations.
Civil authorities in Ukraine are not legitimate. This leads neo-Nazi forces to real power in the country. Interim administration under the auspices of the United Nations could allow Ukraine to hold elections and bring to power a “competent and trustworthy” government, with which Russia could launch negotiations and sign a peace treaty “that will be recognized worldwide and will be reliable and stable.”
“But this is only one of the options. I’m not saying that there are no others. … But this is one of the options, and there is such a practice in the work of the United Nations,” Putin added.
US President Donald Trump also stands for the launch of elections in Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities explain that the elections require the end of hostilities and the lifting of martial law in the country. Earlier, Zelensky claimed that he was ready to resign if necessary for peace or the country’s accession to NATO; but he is not in a hurry to leave leave his post.
Looking for the political concensus, the Kremlin does not forget about the goals of ‘denazification and demilitarisation’ of the territories west of its border. Taking into account the constant provocations and Kiev’s unwillingness (read: “wish of its foreign patrons”) to sit at the negotiation table and follow the agreements, Moscow is ready to achieve its goals by military means.
‘There is reason to believe that the Russian Armed Forces will finish off the Ukrainian Armed Forces’, Russian President Putin declared. The Russian army has a strategic initiative along the entire front line. The Russian economy and finances are in stable and satisfactory condition, ‘although there is always not enough money.’
Russia is the fourth largest economy in the world after China, the United States and India, while the rest are lower.
Russia is in favor of resolving the conflict by peaceful means, but on condition that the root causes are eliminated. Britain is behaving aggressively towards the Russian Federation, but they have an economy in 9th-10th place in the world and a small army.
The power balance on Ukrainian battlefield, the ongoing Russian offensive and destruction of the last main lines of Ukrainian defense in the Donbass, confirm Putin’s claims. The newly revealed initiatives highlight that Moscow has always been open for negotiations and tried its best to resolve the conflict by peaceful means, since there was an existential threat approaching its border. Putin’s plan also corresponds to the Kremlin’s goal to resolve the root causes of the entire conflict.
