The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has acknowledged losing three more soldiers during operations in the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip.
On August 25, the IDF said that a soldier from the Jerusalem Brigade’s 9207th Battalion was killed in Gaza City in the northern part of the Strip. Another soldier was seriously wounded in the incident. According to an initial military probe, the soldiers were hit by an explosive device planted on a road in the Zeitoun neighborhood.
The military announced the death of two other soldiers on August 28. The first soldier, who was serving in the ranks of the Nahal Brigade’s 932nd Battalion, was killed in southern Gaza. The second soldier was serving with the Jerusalem Brigade’s 6310th Battalion and was killed in the central part of the Strip.
The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Movement, and the al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, released between August 25 and 28 several videos showing recent attacks on IDF units in different parts of Gaza. The videos show several Israeli troops being hit.
The last four deaths brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 342. More than 2,250 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit in the Strip, according to Hebrew media.
Meanwhile on the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war has exceeded 40,500, with women and children making up most of the casualties.
