Instrument factory in Izyum

One of the main hotspots on the Donbass front lines is the town of Izyum and the nearby areas.

After the recent advance to the south of Izyum, the DPR, LPR and Russian forces temporarily suspended their offense in the area. Meanwhile, the AFU command is reinforcing the positions in Barvenkovo and nearby areas to Izyum, likely preparing a counter offensive.

However, a major AFU offensive on the town is risky, as Barvenkovo remains almost the only direction from where it may be launched. North of Izyum, the AFU grouping deployed in Chuguev suffers the constant artillery shelling by Russian forces from the south of Kharkiv.

South of Izyum, the AFU positions were repulsed for tens of kilometers. Amid fierce resistance of the AFU, Russian forces advanced to the south and southeast of Kamenka in the direction of Barvenkovo and Slavyansk. The villages of Brazhkovka and Sukhaya Kamenka are now under the Russian control.

The main front lines pass through the small village of Suligovka, located 18 kilometers to the south of Izyum. The remnants of the AFU in the village continue their resistance in this heavily fortified area. Fierce artillery clashes continue.

The town of Izyum is almost completely secured. The mop up operation on the southern outskirts of the town is finished.

Recently, Russian military shared footage made in the Mount Kremenets located in the southern part of the Izyum. It was one of the main strongholds of the AFU during the clashes for Izyum, from where the whole town and its outskirts were shelled from.

Another important stronghold of the AFU in the southern areas of Izyum was an instrument factory, which was fortified and used as a military base by Ukrainian soldiers.

On April 7, the Russian Ministry reported that the factory was under the control of Russian forces. The plant produced components for armored personnel carriers, which are currently used by the AFU on the front lines. Russian soldiers reported that almost nothing was taken out from the factory when it was left by the AFU. A lot of documents were discovered, including various contracts for the supply of equipment, like optical guidance systems for missiles.

Russian military shared footage of foreign-made weapons captured from the AFU after fighting, including portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems, various anti-tank missiles systems, as well as weapons and ammunition of Ukrainian production

” These are weapons found at the instrument factory in the town of Izyum. As you can see, basically all weapons are foreign-made. Here is a MANPADS Stinger. They are found in almost every location, no matter where we come, there are at least 5-10 pieces. A very good German-made grenade launcher.

This element of an anti-tank guided missile is already Ukrainian-made, but all components are still from Soviet times.

This is Sweden. We can observe. In fact, we can say that the whole Europe is fighting against us.

This surveillance and fire guidance system is designed for conducting combat operations with armored vehicles. In this case, it was the E4 armored personnel carrier of the AFU, which was destroyed by the armed forces of the Russian Federation in the Izyum direction. All these weapons elements were produced at this factory.”

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation seized a batch of the Ukrainian BTR-4 “Bucephalus” and put them into operation.

Fierce battles for Raisins lasted about three weeks. One of the main hotspots was the crossing over the Severskiy Donets River, where Russian forces were stopped by heavy artillery fire by the AFU. Ukrainian soldiers attempted by all means to prevent the Russian military from transporting equipment, fuel and ammunition to the other shore of the river.

The Russian Defense Ministry has recently published footage of the movement of military equipment on a pontoon crossing over the Seversky Donets River.

Despite the recent advance of Russian forces in the area, Ukrainian artillery continues shelling on the town of Izyum, from where civilians are being evacuated by Russian and LPR servicemen. On April 7, it was reported that the 27th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired from the Barvenkovo area.

As a result of the shelling dozens of civilians are wounded daily. Russian medical officers provide a necessary medical assistance on the spot. Civilians who were severely wounded or seriously ill residents of Izyum are transported to the Russia’s Belgorod region, including on board the Russian helicopters.
