In response to the last nigh rocket launches at Tel Aviv as well as further shelling from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) delivered strikes on about 100 targets, which allegedly belonged to the Palestinian movement Hamas and its military wing known as Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
According to the IDF, a underground rocket manufacturing site, a Hamas HQ for operations in Judea and Samaria and a Hamas center of unmanned aerial aircraft were among the targets.
At the same time, Hamas denied responsibility for rockets fired into Israel, saying the attack took place as it held truce talks with Egyptian mediators.
The movement’s armed wing said in a statement it was “not responsible for the firing of the rockets tonight toward the enemy. They were fired as a meeting was underway between the leadership of the Hamas movement and the Egyptian security delegation over the understandings regarding the Gaza Strip.”
Palestinian sources say that the last night rocket launches were a staged provocation designed to sabotage peace talks. Many of them claim that the provocation was staged by Israel. However, no evidence to confirm these claims have been provided so far.
