Inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have arrived in the town of Douma to investigate the alleged April 7 chemical weapons there, the Syrian state-media reported on April 17.
According to the info available online, the inspectors arrived in Syria earlier this week. However, their inspection of Douma was slowed down by “security concerns.”
The alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma was used by the US, Britain and France to justify their missile strike on Syria on April 14. Washignton, London and Paris insist that the Syrian government was behind the Douma incident and still poses a chemical weapons stockpile.
Russia says the attack was staged and accuses the UK and the US of having a hand in fabricating a pretext for the attack against Syria.
