The Ukrainian military continues profiting from negligence of some Russian military commanders. Over the past days, several precision strikes on the areas of accumulation of Russian military personnel near the frontlines resulted in heavy losses of the Russian Army.
On February 22, Ukrainian military sources shared new videos of strikes on the groups of Russian servicemen in the Kherson region. The attack likely took place on February 21. Russian servicemen are seen gathering in an open terrain on the territory of the Oleshkovskie sands sandy massif located near the village Podo-Kalinovka. The area of the strikes is located only about 25 kilometers from the Ukrainian positions on the western bank of the Dnieper River.
The shelling was launched from the HIMARS MLRS with M30A1 GMLRS missiles with numerous tungsten balls that fire over the target in the air. As a result, the strikes inflict maximum damage to the enemy manpower.
In total, there were three strikes on two groups of Russian servicemen, who were likely ordered to make ranks in an open terrain. The third strike likely targeted forces which came to the spot for evacuation or the investigative task force.
The footage confirmed the destruction of Russian groups.
The attack took place only a day after another Ukrainian strike killed dozens of Russian servicemen in the rear training ground near the village of Trudovskoe in the DPR. LINK
Similar Ukrainian strikes in the rear areas not far from the front took place more than a year ago, when the Russian officers were forming up their units as it was requested by the rules; but the years-long hostilities in Ukraine revealed that gathering of large forces together is too dangerous, particularly due to the beginning of massive deployment of reconnaissance and kamikaze UAVs and supply of advanced military equipment to the Ukrainian army from NATO, which allowed to launch immediate precision strikes on large distances. Unfortunately, some Russian officers forget the lessons of this war and the Ukrainian military is profiting from their mistakes.
In their turn, the Ukrainian military often suffered from the same mistakes too, failing to adopt the lessons of their Soviet warfare to the new realities. In particular, the AFU suffered horrific losses as a result of Russian missile strikes on the training ground in Selidovo. Both Russian and Ukrainian artillerymen are hunting for the areas of the enemy accumulation. Only the heaviest strikes become publicly known and result in public outrage. Indeed, years of heavy fighting exhaust military personnel on both sides. On the one hand, the fighters gain the necessary experience, but on the other they begin losing their caution.
