On July 2, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) released a video filmed inside the Saudi-led coalition’s al-Wadi’a camp on the Yemeni-Saudi border.
The video was filmed by spies of the Houthis prior to the June 22 drone attack on the camp. In the video, dozens and dozens of tents where Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters are situated can be seen.
The Houthis targeted the camp with ten Qasef-2K suicide drones. Footage of the attack was released by the Yemeni group on July 1. As many as 60 Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters and Saudi officers were allegedly killed or wounded as a result of the drone attack.
The Houthis stepped up their missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and its proxies in Yemen in the last few months. .
The Saudi-led coalition announced on July 3 that it had “intercepted and destroyed” a suicide drone launched by the Houthis over the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. The Yemeni group has not commented on the coalition’s claims yet.
The Houthis’ recent attacks are meant to pressure Saudi Arabia into ending its war on Yemen. However, the Kingdom appears to be determined to go on with the costly war.
