The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are completing the destruction of the Ukrainian bridgehead on the Russian soil in the Kursk region. Over the past day alone, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost control of the area of about 20 square kilometers, and the remaining Ukrainian forces are falling into another cauldron.
Forces of the 95th and 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigades, as well as the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled from a wide area north of Oleshnya. As a result of their advance, the Russian troops took control of the main road from the Sumy region to Sudzha.

According to preliminary reports from the battlefield, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took control of the Sudzha border checkpoint located on the road. At the same time, the Ukrainian troops were repelled from the Sudzha gas station destroyed by the retreating Kiev’s forces after the warring sides agreed to stop attacks on energy infrastructure. Battles continue in the area.
The Russian troops are completing the mop up operations in the village of Gogolevka. The last settlement under Ukrainian control in the area is the border village of Oleshnya located south of the road. Russian forces are already approaching it from the south. Advancing from the north, Russian forces are likely to launch assault on Oleshnya from the north. As a result, the last Ukrainian troops will be surrounded and destroyed in the border area. The Russian troops are likely to repel the enemy from the last border areas in the Sudzha direction in the coming days.
Russian forces in action:
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to resist near Guevo, where Russian offensive operations continue. This direction is not of strategic importance because there are no villages to gain a foothold in. After the mop up operations in the forests near the border, the Russian military could claim the full control of the Russian territory.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the day, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 260 servicemen, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, three armored combat vehicles, 10 vehicles, two artillery pieces, three mortars and two UAV control points were destroyed.
Russian strikes:
Destroying Ukrainian bridgehead in the Kursk region, the Russian troops are advancing on the Ukrainian territory. They are already developing offensive in three directions, near the border villages of Veselka, Zhuravlevka and Basovka. According to preliminary reports, Veselka and Basovka are already under Russian control. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are sending reinforcements to the border in an attempt to stop Russian offensive.
Russian offensive in the Sumy region allows to take fire control of large areas on the Ukrainian territory. In the case of their breakthrough, the Ukrainian military will be forced to retreat to Yunakovka. Thus, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation may secure a buffer zone several kilometers deep in the enemy rear.
