More rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip on March 21 with warning sirens sounding in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a brief statement that two rockets launched from the Palestinian enclave were intercepted over Ashkelon by its air defenses. No casualties or material losses were reported by Hebrew media after the rocket attack.
The incident marked the second day in a row of rocket attacks on Israel, after the IDF resumed military operations in the Strip earlier this week. The military wing of the Hamas Movement, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the previous attack.
Following the rocket attack, the IDF issued an evacuation warning for Palestinians in the area of the launch in northern Gaza
In a post on the X social network, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, Colonel Avichay Adraee, published a map of the area that is to be evacuated, saying that it was a “final warning” before the military carries out strikes there.

Israeli strikes hit targets across Gaza throughout the day. The most intense strikes targeted Jabliya in the northern part of the Strip.
More than 700 Palestinians have been killed and over 900 injured in a surprise attack by Israel on Gaza since March 18, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that was brokered by the United States, Egypt and Qatar last January.
In addition to killing hundreds, the IDF has reoccupied key areas in the north, center and south of Gaza without facing any real resistance.
Diplomatic efforts are reportedly underway to resume the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. However, Israel will likely make additional demands, especially that Hamas has so far failed to fight back in any meaningful way.
