This map provides a general look at the military situation in Syria:
- The most intense fighting is ongoing in the province of Idlib and Aleppo. In southern Idlib, the Syrian Arab Army is advancing on positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. In northern Aleppo, Turkish forces are storming fortifications of Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces in the area of Afrin.
- In Eastern Ghouta, sporadic clashes erupt between the Syrian Army and local militants. Pro-militant sources have recently accused the government of a chemical weapons attack on the city of Douma.
- In southern Syria, the Free Syrian Army, backed up by Israel, declared the start of operation against the local ISIS affilate.
- ISIS conducted several attacks against the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in the province of Deir Ezzor.
